How and why to setup a TikTok profile for your own business..

Proem:

We used to listen to the radios back in the day, and then started consuming content on televisions at home, and now we are doing the same on mobile phones and apps. Yes!, the former 2 still exist, but it’s safe to say that it’s not their prime now. From Lee de Forest 1907, XWA 1919, Radio journal de la Tour Eiffel 1921, Irish rebel station 1926, All India Radio 1936, to the televison and tv channells; the communications phenomenon has evolved along with so many other industries. Now in 2020, Silicon valley, eastern europe, rural India and in most of the today’s world, Internet is available on demand for cheap. This also lead to making these mobile phones,and social media platforms the new evolved television and the television channells respectively for people to spend quality time on.

The point that truly makes sense is, the internet is here to stay and there’s no doubt in saying that. There are real people spending half of their lifes on their mobile phones and mobile applications; making new friends, connecting with family and colleagues, learning skills, watching entertainment and news, acquring knowledge. Social media, in 2020 in my vague guess attracting billions of people every single day. Proving, as some people say ‘‘social media is the current state of the internet’’.

For most people, internet is the real life and not the actual real life. And right now there’s plenty of organic reach on tiktok and without spending a fortune on ads and with the right use of hashtags and networking, you can definiely bring in sales and customers.

The true essence of the story:

As you can see during this pandemic, most of the infrastructure that has been built for conventional operations became less to no use. From teaching and marketing to deploying so many valuable products and operations, internet became the infrastructure. And it’s always been so for some of the e-commerce businesses. Social media on top of it garnered wide range of attention during the evolution of the internet. And when you want to sell a product, it’s both important and basic to get market’s and people’s attention depending on what you’re selling.

When you have a new and emerging product in 2020 or a small firm with less budget for marketing, the traditional marketing approach would come in expensive and that too with no better outcomes as people aren’t into print media as they used to. A lot of people aren’t even noticing the hoardings on the buses to be really honest. Social media and other internet tools took over people’s attention especially the younger generation.

And today, Internet made it all easy and ofcourse the kids are getting better opportunities, they are networking on social aka the current state of the internet. While some people are trying to horrify the kids who are using internet or mobile phones. That’s nothing but traditional parenting out of love and fear.

Digital marketing evolved because of the wide attention the social media is getting fromhuman beings. One way for a business to evolve and sustain during these times is by having a web presence along with their physical presence. For a small business, it still costs less to open a static website providing the information about their available products and services, it’s still not expensive if you want to build your business and doesn’t like the idea of working for someone waiting for a paycheck.

From the time of banner ads, Google and Yahoo search engine evolution, then Myspace and facebook social media marketing to Google adwords and facebook ads and instagram stories and now TikTok; the marketing has expanded towards new opportunities these fresh sites were bringing.

How can you use Tiktok for your business:

  1. Create a tiktok account.
  2. Bring in your products in a fifteen second video.
  3. Talk about how good they are with all of your genuinity.
  4. Show off your product variants and give the audience some valuable insights.
  5. Search your hometown hashtags; for instance #Mahabubabad(30Million views).
  6. See what’s popping, and network with the people who are active on the platform.
  7. Ask if some of those popular people on the platforms are willing to showcase your product; pay them like all the network marketing firms do.
  8. Be kind.

Here in this pic, if you click on these hashtags; there are people with a public presence. Ask a popular creator in the area if they are willing to advertise a product you sell, if ‘yes’ pay them handsomely for your product to reach more people. And start networking with the people around. With the right use of most viewed hashtags, your video will be achieving good amount of views and also will be placed along with the popular videos.

When I was inspecting the platform vaguely in 2019, I was able to get 70–200 views on each video. We’re not talking million views ofcourse, but the 70–500 views on each video does make sense.

If you like or comfortable with videos, you can do a 15seconds to 1 minute videos explaining your products or giving insights or simply enjoying the platform according to your demographics using the right hashtags.

During my time in Ireland, I used to do cooking videos which used to get attention from countries such as Ireland and USA. If you’re in an online/e-comm business, Titok for free content distribution would be a great choice.

Why Tiktok? You must ask..

  1. Tiktok is one of the most downloaded apps in recent times.
  2. Tiktok still has organic reach along with LinkedIn at the moment.
  3. Tiktok is based on music and videos for which there’s always demand and new engagement.

It’s not being romantic to any of these platforms, Tiktok might not be available in 2025 but right now tiktok is a good deal here in India and aswell as global if you’re an e-commerce business, there’s huge amount of attention on the platform.
